Steel Detailer
Our detailers utilize SDS/2 software for all our modeling and design detailing purposes. They prepare detailed plans and drawings for fabrication and erection of the steel in a variety of structures. Adhering to our strict detailing standards and utilizing Tekla EPM software as well as Bluebeam Revu to ensure precision, consistency and coordination amongst our detailing team.
Document Control
Document control is integral to streamlining and organizing all our projects including their drawings, files, and documents. Using Tekla EPM and Bluebeam Revu software helps to make controlling the flow of our documentation easy.
CNC Programmer
Using CNC files exported from SDS/2, Raptor software for our Peddinghaus equipment, Steel Projects, and Hypertherm’s ProNest software we can create CNC files for our machines which organize and produce parts with the highest levels of precision.
Project Manager
Responsibilities are to include overseeing all projects, reviews all drawings for confirmed projects. Project Manager will hold weekly progress meetings with fabrication and affected departments. Their duties are to include reviewing all documents related to confirmed projects. Coordinate all aspects of projects; submit completed detail and erection drawings to Engineers for approval. Randomly check shop and erection drawings against structural drawings and shop standards, develop schedules for fabrication, delivery and erection. Attend all customer/Construction meetings and perform any field verification of existing conditions. Coordinate any corrective actions with responsible parties.
Purchasing Manager
Responsibilities include having all steel in stock when the project is ready for fabrication. Provide quarterly inventories for accounting and to keep adequate stock levels of detail material.
Shop
Quality Control Inspector
Responsibilities to include being familiar with AISC and AWS requirements for fabrication. Assist in training shop personal in all phases of welding, fabrication, and safety procedures. Ensures that welding procedures are current and available for welders. Ensures that all welding certification are current. Reviews all fabrication drawings to ensure that all requirements and processes are followed. Inspects finished product for contract drawing compliance. Works closely with Project Managers and Operations Manager to ensure that product is fabricated to the latest approved drawings.
Structural & Miscellaneous Fabricators
Tasked with welding and fabricating structural and miscellaneous members including columns, beams, trusses, vertical and horizontal bracing, stairs, rails, ladders and frames. (Must be able to pass a Horizontal 2G weld test in the GMAW process)
CNC Operator
Tasked with processing major material including beams, columns, plate work, and angles using our Peddinghaus drill line and saw, Peddinghaus Angle Master, Bend-Tech Dragon pipe plasma machine and Prostar plasma table.
Parts Processor
Tasked with cutting and processing parts for production using band saws, sanders, shear, press brake, pipe bender, and some CNC equipment.
Receiving & Material Handling
In charge of unloading and organizing material from trucks as it arrives at our facility, as well as retrieving material in our inventory for parts employees in our shop.
Paint & Shipping
Tasked with finishing material with the proper paint, as well as organizing and loading material onto flatbed trailers for shipping.
Safety Director
Responsibilities to include establishing and administering 4G Steel’s Safety and Loss Control Program, conducting monthly safety meetings, conducting regular physical inspections of all work areas, shops and buildings for any unsafe acts or hazards throughout the company. Read More.
Estimators
Estimating Manager
Responsibilities include estimating of all projects during bid stages and design revisions before project is awarded. Obtain pricing from suppliers on materials, buy-outs and services. Reports to Partners.
